That has been an unanswered question for as long as I can remember. The crew that I grew up with always thought that the Tribune Co. didn't care if the Cubbies won or lost, they still drew the crowds, and sold the Old Style. But then I remember when they had Hamms beer.

Comes the beer refreshing
Comes the beer refreshing
Hamms, Hamms Beer

LOL! I remember that. I don't know if anyone can still find Hamms, the beer refreshing.

Yeah, even before the Tribune Co bought the Cubs, it didn't seem like old man Wrigley had either the will or deep-pockets to invest what was necessary to make them winners.

But ya can't even make it just once in 60 years? C'mon! What is the freakin' deal?

(And while I'd love to rehash all the episodes in futility that they've experienced in their playoff history, believe me I don't need to be reminded; I was glued to the TV for each gut-wrenching performance, and have had my heart ripped out and replaced each and every time.)
