Will it be Rocket Launch or Rocket Failure?
Clemens vs. Contreras
I give Alabama credit as they finally play someone with a lil pulse and find a way to win..But I still dont think they are a top five 5..Top 15 yes but in the league of VT,SC,Texas and Miami? Nooooo
As for Series? LETS GO STROS
GO SOX!!!!!!!
As a lifelong Red Sox fan, I'm stopping by to say best wishes to both teams.
I'm rooting for the White Sox purely for sentimental reasons- it's a Sox thing. Besides- The White Sox last won the (1917) year before WE last won (1918) back in the last century- so they're DUE!
What goes with SOX???? DeFeat, of course.....LOL.
I was looking for a live thread. Thanks!
Here we go guys...
Baba is #5 until somebody knocks 'em out.
The toughed it out and won.
Fellow Bosox fan as well, but I'm rooting for Clemens to wind up his career with a W.S. for his home town.
Dan Duquette was a horse's ass.
I'm a Red Sox fan, and a baseball fan (which means I keep
following the playoffs even after my team is eliminated). I _like_ both teams but in most cases I cheer for the AL (except if the AL team is the Yanks!). So I will probably cheer a bit more for the Chi-Sox but if Houston wins (fave team of
Bush 41 & Barbara Bush), so be it.
Each time has a league pennant to be proud of. One will emerge with the ultimate prize, though.
As of right now only 5 teams have never been to the World
Series: Montreal/Washington Nationals (the old Wash.
Senators won a Series though didn't they?), Colorado,
Tampa Bay, Seattle, and that _other_ team from Texas.
Chi-Sox--unbelievable pitching. 4 straight complete games
in the ALCS! Bullpen only pitched two-thirds of an inning in the whole series!
The Boston Red Sox reign officially ends some time in
the next week: Wed. night (a sweep? unlikely) or Fri,
Sat, or Sunday of next weekend. Will it be the go-go
Sox or the former Colt45s?
no problem--if there isn't one, start it...
What could have been: "It's a cold, raw, rainy night here in Boston. 48 degrees and feels more like 40--starting to
rain a bit heavier now. Not sure if we're gonna get this
game in, folks..."
Duquette now acknowledges that he may have been a BIT off
with that comment about Roger being in the twilight of his career...
bump
No,that isn't Nancy Faust on the organ (I think she went to Wurlitzer Heaven a couple years ago) but someone is carrying on her tradition of appropriate tunes; as the Astros were being introduced he/she played everything from "I've Been
Working on the Railroad" (not sure what that was for), to
"Yellow Rose of Texas" (got that), and when "MisterRoger"
Clemens was introduced, "It's a Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood..."
How come we get Mr. Roger's "Won't You Be My Neighbor" music and they get Star Wars music?
Bogus man. Bogus.
Very funny...reply to me again when the Sox take it in 6 lol
Thanks, raccoonradio!
That was the best rendition of the National Anthem I have ever heard. And I go back 60+ years!
Tiger fan myself but I'm rooting for the SOX tonight.
51 degrees in Chicago and chance of rain tonight and
tomorrow. Meanwhile it's a GIVEN that the roof will be closed when they go to Houston. They want the crowd noise to be at a max!
