Here are three views of the Chocolate Drops in Canyonlands, which came to mind when I saw your pic.
I went down into that for 3 days over Thanksgiving with some college buddies a few years back, and we cooked the complete Thanksgiving dinner from scratch at the bottom; turkey, stuffing, pumpkin pies and pecan pies.
We found old pioneer pecan trees for the pecans, shelled them, and made the best pie ever.
