Today's antics from the locals.

Jail escape short-lived

It's getting to be that I know half the people that turn up in these "colorful" local stories. In this case, I know both...one quite well.

Another warm and fuzzy local story, proving that not all Ozarks Arkansans are illiterate meth addicts who abuse their kids:

"Scheduled for release? Brilliant!"

I know. This guy should be a comedian. Seriously. He's actually very likeable, but definitely not the brightest bulb in the package. Here's the sad part: he's the most balanced one in the family.

I was on a mountain top and I had a plate of smoked fish, cheese, sausage and crackers, and a single small stump of a tree to put it on.

You really ought to get a digital camera to record all the great places you visit.

You on your mountain top and me, today, in the bottom of the valley taking pics of the fast flowing water coming from everywhere. I must visit this place again in summertime.

Meanwhile, here is a shot from Malpica that I took today after visiting the river.

I had resisted saying this but since you mention it...

The battery died when I turned on the camera, all it would say is that the batteries were dead. $17.00 for new ones back at the only store in Torrey, Utah.

Cheese.......

Two Disposable batteries, the e^2 type. They were not supposed to die, they were fairly new. Blew my confidence in them.

I've got my eye on a setup at Costco where a Camera + a telephoto + 6 Megapixels is now affordable.

What do you use?

It was a miserable over cast day so I decided to take a trip to find a place I was told had water wheels. After a huge detour I managed to find the place about 40 miles from home.

No water wheels but it was most unusual place with rushing water everywhere. It seemed like the confluence of four rivers.

All ninety two pictures were taken within an area of less than three hundred feet.

I did not travel upstream but I did see that there were more cataracts that way. I will leave that adventure for next summer.
