I received this in my e-mail today; just figured I'd pass it along to others on the board.

Rush to judgment? WTF? This happened five nights ago. Not earlier today or yesterday.

For a university president he sure doesn't seem to have much respect for the intelligence of the students or the public.

yup, just Tim McVeigh and one other American, Terry Nichols... and don't go bringing up all that time he spent in the Phillipeans with Abu Saayef, you wingnuts. And that whole Jayna Davis thing, well that's now been totaly disproven... or not... it doesn't matter, we're not talking about it anymore, that's final.
And so what if the guy was a member of the same mosque as Zach Mousai, that doesn't mean anything. Just one disturbed individual, acting alone, not in concert with his Pakistani room mate with the ticket to Algeria. What, you're going to try to say this has something to do with islam? If college has taught us anything, it's that dusky hued people from America hating nations are our greatest strength.

It looks like the locals who are getting bits and pieces of information on what nearly happened in Norman, are getting PO'ed and are not looking kindly on ME types in their area.
Boren is trying to do his usual cover up, which began right after the incident.
What if the rest of the country had been privilege to the facts that the locals, to a degree, and even the facts that we FReepers have been able to dig up?
It would not be pretty. Nor should it be.

It's just STUNNING how little attention this is getting. I first heard some details Saturday night. Sunday I looked around and actually decided it must be a hoax due to the lack of coverage. Thanks to some posts here, I've seen the local news coverage and know most of the details.
However, in just talking with the folks around the office here (in Philadelphia), even the better informed of them haven't heard about this at all! I send links to the local news, because that's about as convincing that it actually occurred as you'll find, and they're just amazed at the lack of coverage, or outright cover up.
No rational person could dismiss this as just a local story.

Thanks to FReeper cripplecreek for the ping.
David Boren's Politically Correct Email.....LOL. "Don't rush to judgement," says Boren. Remember, folks.....Boren was pushing the "depressed student who committed suicide with a bomb" theory till the night of 10/04/05. He has since changed this story to "lone suicide bomber." Let us see where he goes next with his story....
BTW, here is an updated list-o-links (update #3) for members of this ping list.

Boren certainly rushed to the judgement that this incident was merely an unusual method suicide but nothing more.

OKC-911 CONNECTION ALERT. Please let me know by freepmail if you want to be put on or taken off this list. Thanks.David Boren, OU president:
A reading of some media reports and comments from individuals made at the time of the bombing of the Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City is enlightening. Some quickly rushed to the conclusion that the bomber must have been a Middle Eastern terrorist. There were video shots of international students on Oklahoma campuses shown on news broadcasts as this speculation was reported. As we all now know, the person responsible was not someone from the Middle East but was Timothy McVeigh and at least one other American who assisted him. We can only hope that all of us, including some media outlets, would have learned from that recent rush to incorrect conclusions.
Just thought I'd let you know....lol

Mark Davis, a local and national talk show host at WBAP in Fort Worth, Texas, interviewed Jihad Joey's father this morning.
I was working so I didn't hear but bits and pieces of the interview.
What I did hear was a small blurb where he was praising his son and denying any involvement with Muslim terrorists.
He did mention that he sought out and seeked praise all through his life. Looking for kind comments from his teachers, etc, about what a good kid he was, what a great job he was doing.
It sounded to me that this kid was seeking for praise for anything he did, looking for a place to belong, and a great canidate for being used.
It appears to me that the Jihadists found a person that they could and did use.
When he was denied admission three times to the stadium with his back path of death he may well have sat on that bench and did himself in rather than fail on his mission and not receive the praise he so craved.
I can think of no other reason rather than an accident, a timer that he couldn't control, or a preset time for a cell phone to detonate the bomb.
The fact that he had additional explosives in his apartment would make me think that he planned on living on to do this again.
I don't know if you get Mark Davis' national show or not but you can get him at www.wbap.com, on streaming audio, his show comes on at 9 AM central.
If any other FReepers heard all of the interview, please chime in.

I do believe Boren has 'ostrich syndrome'.
Has he read ANYTHING relating to the Murrah Building bombing? Middle Eastern types were reported as involved because it was true.

What happened to my post? It was rather astute.
Don't have time to repost.

Owl,
This thread needs some screen time here on FR. I don't know how to ask the Moderator to do this? Do you, can you?
