A few from the man side:
1) Don't expect me to care or want to hear about what happened on 'Days of Our Lives' (Oprah, Dr. Phil, Young and the Restless etc) when I ask you how your day went. Tell me about YOU, our house, our street, our town etc.
2) Let me sit down for 10 minutes and get my boots off before trying to talk to me about anything of consequence...
3) Don't ask how MY day went unless you honestly want to know and intend to sit and listen thoughtfully while I explain it, no matter how long it takes and no matter whether I need to first go over basic concepts about hydrodynamic flows, differential pressure zones, structural design.....
Bracing for flames.
That sounds good to me, too. I might have trouble following you on the technical stuff, but I would certainly listen and try to understand the technical stuff.
No flames here. Your suggestions are good ones. And tell the little lady to stop watching Oprah and soaps! Ugh, that stuff will rot the mind. Get her 24 on DVD if she wants to watch something!
Why? I think your requests are very reasonable and oh..... not all women watch Oprah or soap operas
Some of us are more discriminating, like "What Not To Wear"
:>)
Your list is more than acceptable. No flames here.
4.) When you tell me something that happened to you or somebody else ,(and please let it be someone I care about or at least know), try to get to the point within six or seven paragraphs. I'm begging you.
I feel your pain! LOL!
