That looks like a nice pad, I would take it to a saddler to see if he can do something with the straps.

...we found one of our kittens in the pool this morning : ( My in-law's have lost a cat and a dog that way and I just hate it. It just scares me to death when I see them leaning way over drinking out of the pool, but there's no way to keep them out. They can fit through the ornamental iron gates.
