What IS it about mares and peeing inside? Every one of mine feels like it's their obligation to pee in the barn if they're in there any amount of time at all. The geldings NEVER do.

This is just a working theory, but I think it's because if they pee in soft bedding, it doesn't splash on their legs so much as when they do it outside on hard ground. Guys don't worry about that so much because of their geography, it doesn't splash so much.

I swear to god that they hold it. It's such a terrible feeling when they decide to pee while on the crossties. Time just seems to slow down or they pee extra long, I can't decide which. :-p
