Well, here I go again, sticking my nose in.

SL and the baby can be registered as Pinto based on color. Paint Assoc requires parents be registered Paint and/or Quarter Horse. Interesting how they changed that when they got big :)

Planning for a foal while you're still at that barn or a barn with experienced people is a wise idea. It's very comforting to have someone around who knows what's happening at foaling time, plus if something went wrong, minutes count and someone with experience would know there was a problem and if nothing else, call a vet.

Very few people make money raising horses :) but the sight of a birth and a new foal is worth more than gold. And, lots of people raise horses who don't/can't/won't ride. Me for one - Bob is the rider, my riding days are over but I get just as much enjoyment out of my horses as I would if I did.

Okay, back to lurker mode - I'll finish reading.
