Haven't been on in a week due to our vacation down in SC. We went down to look at areas that might be attractive when I retire in 3 yrs.(Mr. Estrogen is already retired)

We went to Seabrook Island south of Charleston and I loved it but it is really pricey. They have an equestrian center with trails and beach rides, but I don't think we could afford it. We also looked at Moss Creek near Hilton Head. Nice area and reasonably priced. Only trouble, no trails. They are more attuned to showing which I don't do. I really want to go somewhere warm in the winter,I can't take Ohio winters anymore. Hope we find something.

Why don't you look at places around Big Southfork Recreation Area in north central TN. There's tons of mountain trails there and the winters don't get too bad but you still have distinct seasons. That's where I'd love to live if I was retiring.

Where I live it doesn't get too cold. There is a few weeks in either Jan. or Feb. where the nights get down to about 20, but it doesn't last long. The days get down to between 40 and 50 in the winter.

It's not THAT bad!...lol I can relate to that. Often, I think, I would like to move, but change my mind. It's hard to pull up stakes when you have lived somewhere all your life. At least for me.

Frog is right, Tenn, would be my choice, if I did decide to relocate. I love the mountains.

Good luck in your pursuit of the perfect place. :)
