I'm not catching anything, just fatigue.... I been busy lately, and civilization wears me out. ;~D

As'n for that pony.... it bothered me that it was goin' on for hours, like it was a compulsive thing, and I just wanted to break the cycle. All the horses look utterly bored and it's so dreary out. Once we took the salt block away they wandered out into the back forty, where she'll undoubtedly find something else to get into that she shouldn't ;~D

I'll give it back to her later. I've never heard them to OD on salt either, but I wanted her to take a break. ;~D

I've always heard that a horse's tongue will get raw before they can lick too much salt off of a block, or really even get as much salt as they need and that loose salt was better. I've tried that and they always seem to turn it over and spill it all over the place. But salt blocks are a pain too. My bunch always manages to roll it out of the barn and into the mud. I finally just hung a spare bucket up on the wall and put the freshly washed remains of the block in there and that seems to be working although I don't think the bucket would hold a whole 50# new block. I may try the loose salt again now that they can't turn it over.
