We have a rails to trails place here...Only thing about ours is, the footing is round pee gravel... it's like walking on marbles... The rails-to-trails here is covered in fine crushed limestone, almost a rock dust. The nice thing about it is that when it gets rained on and "sets up" it's as smooth and as pavement but not as hard and slick. I really like it...

Well that's a lot better than pea gravel.
My big ole Tom cat has decided to be a momma to the kittens... :~D

The kittens really hate it :~D They try to squirm away, like kids bein' kissed by some scruffy old uncle they barely know.


These two are Pippin getting in the way of folding laundry :~D

Wow! What a place for a nice gallop! Straight as an arrow, level, and good footing!
The section of rails-to-trails nearest our house is paved for cyclists, but there's a section further west that's for horses. Haven't been over there yet (there's a beautiful National Park right next to our stable, and we haven't come anywhere near to covering all of that yet).
