So, what do I wear to a trail ride?
Alot depends on the weather. I usually am in jeans and t-/sweat shirt. It will probably be warm where you're at, right?
Nothing special, unless you're trying to make a statement:). Cowboy hats, chaps, long sleeve western shirts, neckerchief's, etc. I was surprised at first how many people dress the part. I'd rather go for comfort.

Whatever you'd normally wear to ride :~D
Plus maybe a couple optional layers up or down for the weather. You may want to get, and try out, a set of small saddle bags. Try them out on SL before the trail day at walk/trot/canter, to make sure she won't be suprised if they bounce on her. If your saddle rings don't have ties on them, make some. Practice too, rolling a jacket or windbreaker up, make she she's not spooked by the sound of it, and practice tying it on her well so it won't come undone or slip off to one side.
In saddle bags I carry my camera (if it's not around my neck) and toilet paper, cell phone, a couple bottles of water and a couple candy bars. She should either wear her halter, in addition to the bridle, or you should bring it, and a lead rope, in case you need to tie her somewhere at a break stop.
Wear what you're comfortable in, except no tennis shoes - they aren't real safe in the stirrups. Layer your clothes so you are ready for whatever the weather might bring. Hat or helmet. Plenty of water, snacks.
