LOL! They eat better than I do! I feed Purina Senior, a little alfalfa, and plenty of good coastal. Henkell has lost a lot of muscle this past year. He injured his left hind in a fence (not at my place) a year ago in August. Fortunately he didn't permanently injure his hock or other important structures. But, the recovery has been long. He spent a month in hospital and then was wrapped until about this past May. At first, I was rewrapping every day. He really got tired of the wrapping but was a great patient. He tore all the flesh and skin off down to the cannon bone. This left about 4 inches of cannon bone exposed. We did the placenta/amniotic sac treatment on him which jumpstarted the regrowth. I am back to working and riding him now but he lost all his beautiful muscle. WARNING! Graphic photo of injury! Here is a photo taken about a month after the accident. I will take a photo this evening of how it looks now. You will be amazed at how well it has healed up.
Jake has a wonderful topline now from the correct dressage work. His neck at the base of the withers is highly muscled and broad. But, he does 3rd-4th level work along with a little piaffe and passage when he feels real good. Pretty damn good for an old Texas QH!!
