This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

Thanks. The horse belongs to my cousin. He's wonderful, I'd give anything to have him short of shooting her and stealing him.
I handed her my SLR and set it and said Get a shot of me and whiskey in the river' and she got one shot and it really turned out. Pure luck!

The horse is good, the actiona and moment of splash is good, but I think the red jacket and the hat make the whole image work ;~D

I'm always interested but I can't afford another mouth to feed right now.
He's doing better, thanks for asking! He's still on bute and wearing his frog supports. I talked to the vet today, he wants to do x-rays the end of this week or the first of next week, then talk to the shoer. Tuffy is still sore when I walk him in and out of the barn (on concrete) but acts like normal when he's outside.
Just kidding....
But a question how do I post MY OWN pictures here?

Go to the who's who page and scroll all the way to the bottom. There are detailed instructions on how to do it. I use www.yorkphoto.com. It seems to have the easiest method, imo.

Yorkphoto.com and snapfish.com have the same interface and are free - at least at first. Eventually you have to buy some prints or a mousepad or something but that's to worry about later, and they have pretty cool products. But the interface for uploading pics is good, especially if you install their little loader tool, and the pictures hold up forever on threads, they don't turn to red x's.
photobucket also seems good when Rose uses it, and you can post larger pictures, but I've never used it.
