This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in . There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news . Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
Hello! Welcome to the forum and to your wife. It doesn't matter if she does not respond all the time. We welcome lurkers too. :')
Thx...
MM
Howdy, Glad to see you on here. Possum Town, MS is where I hail from.......
I think the saddle you are asking about may be called a trooper saddle. Not sure about that and others here will know more than I about them.
Taking a break. Those are beautiful. It's like you took us with you:')
Welcome to you and your wife.
Sorry Cindy... I didn't see this post... though sometimes, when it's locked up like that, there's just not much you can do. Save frequently :~D
Hmmm.... might be comfy, might feel real strange ;~D
I'd have to try it :~D
He's got him boarded at a local stable being evaluated, they're riding him inside now, and will hopefully take him out and see how he does on trail.
This is the boarding stable he's at.
He is cute.
He's been at pasture for two years, but he's probably pretty well broke... Bob just wants him checked out, and checked out on trail.
OOOO, great, we'd love to have her and you join us often:)
Becky
That looks like that would be greata fun. I'd love to catch a show like that around here. Thanks for the pictures.
Becky
Got my other PC back this morning. It took me 15 mins to get the cookies enabled, so I could post. That's the trouble with having the home office IT team work on them. We don't abuse our surfing here, and it's is not like FR is a bad site.
14 is an Arab's prime :). He looks like a nice horse.
The stable looks nice. I would sure be nice to be able to send a horse to experts like that:). I hate takeing a horse out the first time.
I hope he works good. Do they know if he's ever been on trails? Sometimes even a dead broke, kid safe "show" horse can be looney on trails. That was a lesson I learned the hard way years ago. Let us know how he does.
Becky
I think the horse has belonged to Bob's son for years, but they don't ride much, if any, trail. Bob's really looking forward to finding out how he does. He has a real quiet basic personality.
Jesse has been taking riding lessons at the same place.
How old is Jesse?
Becky
I think she's 8.
Mornin'!
Jesse's around my Becky's age? Most excellent!
She'll have a riding buddy. *smile*
Yes she will! :~D
It just gets better and better. *laughing*
Once I'm settled in and get to meet the infamous Bob, I'll be sure to ask him for the riding school information to sign Becky up.
She's going to arrive friendless, so it will be a great thing to meet a girl her own age with similar interests. :-)
