This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in . There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news . Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
Interesting, and thanks for the additional detail!
They preferred orphans because it was a pretty dangerous undertaking - they didn't want people with families.
Happy Birthday to your daughter! Don't spook the horse! :-)
Thanks for the pics. Do they depict a Pony Express reenactment?
Yes, mu husband and DIL rode in the reenactment for two years here in Nevada.
Those are great pics, and that would be great fun to do.
Thanks. You would have a lot of fun doing it.
Windhorse farm. That's him. Isn't he pretty? I like the way he walks. He wasn't pushing ahead but it was like he wanted to go faster so bad.
I wonder how much for one cheap date with Sarah Lee?
My daughter was completely surprised (even though my 14 year old son tried to spoil it several times).
All of her friends jumped out of the stall when she went into the barn to fetch me a lead rope when we got home from our trail ride.
And yes, we did it very safely with the horses. ;-)
Now its time for me to go back out for a ride.

$5000 :~D
For one pop? (long whistle)
I have to quit doing this. Eddie put a small tv by the bed to watch the Astros the other day. (no tv in the bedroom). I've been napping in the evening. Last night it was horses and boats. Ok dreams. Tonight it was haunted houses though:')
He's really gorgeous!
And expensive to date!
Oh - and on the breeding fee... at least it's published... Some of them say "Private Treaty" which means, if you have to ask, you can't afford it ;~D
HMM. Now that would be a good tv program. People with mutts could be teamed with a volunteer stud owner and trainer and the winner of the best looking and trained foal at 1 year gets to split a million dollar prize:').
His foals sell for a minimum of 15000
YIKES!!
