This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

HMM. I pulled it off who's who. How come it's small?
I can see in the bigger pic that she's not overly upright... it's not the only factor in the trot, but it's one of them you can look for.... If you see a horse with a real straight up pastern they're gonna be choppy :~D

Lately I haven't been able to do much of anything. That's fixing to change though. Remember when I took her to Houston? The ferrier had a fit and said her hoofs trimmed too long in the front. I wonder if that could be part of it. She was bumpy before I shoed her though.
Here comes our rain. The cold can't be too far behind. I started not to stall them tonight. Glad I did now.
Now it times out - I will be so glad when DSL finally hits my part of the world. I can only get dial up right now, at 50.6kbps
Part of it may be the way she is trimmed and part may be that she has just never learned to extend her trot. :) or she may just have a miserable trot, but I doubt that.
And I've figured out that "save target as" doesn't work on these links... too bad. :~\

Well, it just bothers others. I don't know what I do but I've figured out how to go with her and get her a certain speed. I can't explain to Eddie though. I just rock the reins back till she's good. It's one of those things that you just do but can't explain and you find it caz it's too uncomfortable not to. I feel like I'm rambling. I hope this makes some sense though.

They're not very high resolution, you're going to want to watch them at something less than full screen, but I shrank them down to a size you might be able to get in the door.
