The FreeRepublic Saddle Club - Who's Who *pics*

This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.

I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!

I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.

So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

It's in the 60s here and wicked windy. 40-50 mph winds with 60 mph gusts. It's crazy. The doors to my work builiding won't stay closed and keep whipping open, and the windows are shaking and rattling. My computer is right by the window and I keep waiting for one it to pop. The walls are even shaking.

PS. Cute picture! :-D

LOL, yuk, that looks horrible:)

The funny part was it was titled Shorty the Quarter Horse, then underneath it said "What did you expect for a quarter?"

...40-50 mph winds with 60 mph gusts...

Wow! That's a pretty stiff breeze. I imagine it'd blow you down if you weren't careful. Did you see that "most embarassing moment" clip of Al Roker(sp), the TODAY show weatherman when he was somewhere doing a live feed of a hurricane making landfall and they did a zoom out and he had a barefoot cameraman hanging onto his leg to hold him down, and about that time it blew them both over. It was so funny and somebody made the remark that they bet he wished he had his weight back right about then.

Late Good Morning ping. Stomache was hurting pretty bad this morning, so I stayed home.

Eating pizza before bed time is not a good idea.

Better, but still snotty. My head's so stopped up I can hardly hear and I can't smell or taste anything. I know everybody in the surrounding cubes is tired of hearing me coughing and slurping, but they're probably getting used to it because they've either already had it, currently have it, or are getting it. Oh the joys of working in an office!

I hate to hear about your tummy ache. I hope it's nothing serious. Was it you who had a gluten (or something like that) intolerance?

I think that was Tuffy. Speaking of which, I wonder where she is.

Internet is out at home. Comcast is sending a tech out this afternoon, so Hair won't be online until later today.

Ow... sorry about your tummy!

We had two "pop-up" fires yesterday, so I didn't get to post yesterday. We're just blessed they didn't flare up too bad. Today the winds are really bad. I took some pictures of the colt yesterday, we'll see if I post them!

I'll bet she's going stir-crazy then. Thanks for letting us know. We'd get to worrying that the ponies had run over her otherwise.

It's not ecurbh's fault, it's mine. Somebody sent it to me in an e-mail and I thought it was funny but since I can't post gif files like that I sent it to Hair and ecurbh graciously posted it for me. Somebody's very talented with Photoshop.
