This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in . There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news . Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
Congratulations to your son Cindydawg. I just submitted my application for nursing school this week. I should know sometime in March if I am accepted.
And, my brother just passed his licensing exam in Virginia and starts work Monday at his first nursing job in a hospital.
RebaJ, I enjoyed A&P, but I really loved Microbiology. The labs were really interesting.
63 degrees yesterday. Today, snowing and blowing....crazy weather.
Good morning!
60 here and rain. Tomorrow 30s and snow. Crazy!
....But the good news is you aren't back at work yet. :~D
Good morning :~D
Good morning all. we are heading out today as we have folks coming to look at our house. :)
I was partially raised on a dairy farm, (best years ever!)and like Cav says, don't get between a Mama and her calf or close enough to be a threat. They can get mean but I never had problems. I like cows too, especially in the freezer! :D

We had a cold windy day yesterday, and today, right now looks like it's going to be lovely. Nice breezes, and warmer tempratures. I just got back from my walk and it was great.
Becky
Good morning - good luck on the house :~D
I've been out to feed ponies and have had some coffee, but we aren't movin' more yet.
We're gonna take a drive (a little later) and see if there's still floodwater to be seen today.
Mack and I are trying to think of something fun, exciting and different to do:)
I don't think there is anything. So here we sit.
Becky
And I suppose looking for floods is ~out~ in your area.
No, he just wanted a few to sell every year to pay land taxes.
Good for you. I recomend how Reba doing it though. I took prereqs with nursing classes and it was very hard. we have 4 nurses in the family and 6 either in school or applying.
LOL....not today.
I guess we're going to haul some stuff we want to sell down to the building, then have lunch. Come home, Mack is working on a truck he bought to resell, it needs a rust spot filled in, I'll ride while he is doing that.
Becky
So you gave up on something fun, exciting and different :~D
Oh well, I guess the stuff that needs done needs done too.
I guess I don't like them because I saw a 4H one run up and butt my husband in the back.
I sent my Dad a package with 3 packs of Jimmy Dean sauage gravy mix:')I'm baby sitting today and took the yahoos to I Hop.
Funny thing I heard on the news this week. We are under a burn ban but the county offical said they can't expect people in the county to not burn their trash. Just no fires for us city slickers:')
I have completed the prereqs as well as all other classes except the actual nursing classes required for the ADN. I had to finish the prereqs before they would even let me apply.
The program I am applying to is through my local community college. My brother took his prereqs at his community college but did the actual nursing school through a local hospital.
None of the hospitals in my area have their own nursing schools. They let the community colleges do it.
We have both. The competion is unreal though. 45 seats for over 500 qualified. This is a unique program my son is in. He is a medication aide. The class is for certified nursing aides only. There were still over 500 that applied though. It's an LVN program that last 15 months. They go 4 hours in the evening so that they can still work. All the requireds are included in the program. They will go to an ADN bridge program when thru. It's really good for people not fresh out of college and for the ones that can't go to school because they have to work. My son's wife going into next years class.
A cow in the freezer cannot make you money with milk sales or new baby calves..........
