The FreeRepublic Saddle Club - Who's Who *pics*

This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.

I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!

I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.

So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

They'll be big as Cartman before you know it. When my kitties all pile up on me on the couch while we're watching TV I look like I'm wearing a fur coat with heads and they feel like they weigh about 100 pounds, especially when one of 'em decides to take the shortcut to the end table by walking across one of my boobs. Ouch!

Her head's not really too big for her body, either... it's the lens :~D

Most of my pictures of Miss Ellie turn out that way. Her head looks way too big too.

Did you see this sequence of pics? I posted them in the HH but I don't think I posted them here:

They cracked me up doin' that... till they both started tryin to get their face in there at the same time, and I had to put an end to it before it ended up in my keyboard :~D

Pippin is getting big too, but she still has the same face as when she was little.

Thanks for the encouragement:). I just got back from my second walk of the day. The pedometer really is a good motivator for me. I don't drink anything but water except for a little coffee in the morning. I average 60 to 100 ounces a day.
I've gotten so use to drinking water, I KNOW in the evening when I haven't drank enough. I've come to believe 99% of the american population is walking around dehydrated and that is a big cause for so many of our health problems.

How are you doing? Have you made it back to work yet?

I love the hair sticking out of her ears:)

I've forgotten to tell everyone. We have a new horse addition in the neighbor. I'm going to have to get a picture of this thing. It's a minature. And it is the tiniest one I have ever seen. If she weighs 100 pounds I'd be surprised. Next time I go anywhere I'll try to remember the camera.

Oh she/he is adorable. But it's awful hairy. Long hair. I know ponies tend to be that way, but I'm wondering if she doesn't need to be wormed???? I didn't even realize anyone lived in the place she showed up at...I thought it was empty.

Next time I go by, if she is by the fence I'll get pictures. I don't care if I look nuts out there looking at her:). She is sooo cute.

She's gonna be a very pretty cat.

Pippin's cute, in a 'cat next door' kinda way. Like Mary Ann on Gilligan's Island :~D

May be normal, they do get furry... may also be Cushings, if it's an older pony.

Awwww, how cute! My old cat Teddy used to try to jam his big ol' head down in my milk glass when I'd finished with it to get that last little bit in the bottom, and since it was a really big glass that was the same width from top to bottom, he'd usually succeed. Then he was stuck and I'd have to pull it off. The big goof! He's gone now but he sure was a hoot to have around. Having them kitties around sure makes the day brighter!

They're a blast. After this set of shots and now that they've got tags, it might be almost time to start letting them outside for a bit at a time. I'm really nervous to do that, but they can't stay in forever. They're learning how to climb, they're bouncing off the walls, and they need a bigger playground.

I'm afraid they'll go under the house and not come out :~D

...but they can't stay in forever...

Sure they can, if they've never been out before they don't know what they're missing. Cav's kitty has never been out and my two previous house kitties had never been out and they were fine with staying in all the time. Now my other two current kitties were outside cats when I got them, so there's no way in hell they were going to consent to stay inside all the time so I had no choice there. I'd just rather keep the little dears safe inside if I could.

Yeah - but I got them to be mousers in the barn :~D

And I'll never be good enough about keeping the door shut... I leave it standing wide open when the weather's warm and it's already been a problem keeping them from running out when it's open.

They'll have to be indoor AND outdoor kitties... I just hope they don't find need to wander far.

I'll wait another month to let them out very much, they get fixed when they get their last set of shots. But in the mean time I may take them to the barn and close them in with me while I'm tidying out there.... that kind of thing.

I have three half-grown barn cat kittens with tails that need to go to the animal shelter. There is another female grown barn kitten without a tail that has to go too. If you are interested let me know soon. They belong to the same mama cat that Little B does. The three smaller kittens are dark grey, light grey and yellow. The grown kitten is a light grey color.
