This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

ecurbh and I are really excited to go riding now... can't wait till spring. We got a GPS thing that will find our location and such on trail, which is good if we need to be found, but also it keeps track of average speed and distance traveled and elevation as we move around... Great gadget :~D
:') We bought us a mixer, me a vrc/dvd and Eddie a new gun cleaning kit. We tend to buy what we need or want during the year so didn't want much.

This is our table, but I forgot to get one with the food on it:)
Mack putting JP on the horse, (he hasn't quite got the hang of it yet, it's really a bit big for him:), and Jenny sitting in the rocker we got for her for her nursery.Charlie and Kristy got a new storm door for their house but we didn't take it out of the box.
LOL...you can tell who has little kids at their homes to get them up early. Charlie and Jenny crashed before anything even started here:), and Travis looks comatose.

Yeah - it won't be perfect, I'm told it may not work real well in heavy timber or down in the bottom of ravines and such, but we're looking forward to checking it out!
He got it as a safety measure, so if someone ever got hurt we can actually tell someone where we are. Right now it'd be like "well, we're on the #8 trail past the #6 trail cutoff, a ways past that big tree past the metal bridge and through that clear cut, you come to the place where the blackberries are and...."

Can you believe I didn't take any pictures today? I didn't! but we got up early, opened presents, played with new toys for awhile, had breakfast finally, and then ecurbh and my brother and me ended up looking like your third picture of everyone crashed on the couch while my dad and Dona played with her new casino game :~D
My brother got me a new flat panel monitor! It's beautiful, but unfortunately I can't plug it in yet. It only came with digital cables and I have the wrong kind of port so we have to go get the right cable tomorrow.
So we had to plug my old one back in. :~\
LOL. That's about how I descibe where I'm going around here:)

It was really cool watching him as the ultrasound was being done too. We saw him open and shut his mouth and one eye, and move his head around. REally cool.

Thanks for including your family Christmas pictures too! It looks like there were packages and boxes and paper everywhere by the end, which is how it should be :~D
I think they pretty much use the "old" kind mostly now. These cost alot to have done, but the group of doctors Jenny goes too does one 4D complementary (yeah right:), so they say:). The other kind they can see the babies organs on the inside, I don't know if this one does that. I wouldn't want to see that anyway:)
