LOL!

I am rarely quick-witted enough to think of the snappy come-back.

Ain't it great when it all comes together?

I'm usually pretty slow on the draw but I was already mad, I drove all the way to the competition and left my other daughter home babysitting the little kids, and it was her birthday. I got there just in time, only to be told that their show was delayed 2 hours. I had to turn around and go back home.

...I've never heard them to OD on salt either...

I've always heard that a horse's tongue will get raw before they can lick too much salt off of a block, or really even get as much salt as they need and that loose salt was better. I've tried that and they always seem to turn it over and spill it all over the place. But salt blocks are a pain too. My bunch always manages to roll it out of the barn and into the mud. I finally just hung a spare bucket up on the wall and put the freshly washed remains of the block in there and that seems to be working although I don't think the bucket would hold a whole 50# new block. I may try the loose salt again now that they can't turn it over.

They make a rack that bolts to the wall that you can drop the salt block into.

I use that because (1) the block always seems to wind up in a puddle and (2) they can't tear it up.

You could always sprinkle a little salt on the feed if you don't think they're getting enough (go easy).

Good Morning. Wow, everyone must be really busy.

Yesterday turned out to be a rather pleasant day. Cloudy, high 50's, good day to shoot. I didn't do too bad, for not shooting for a couple months. My shoulder feels it this morning.

You all have a good day, it's time to work.

Tuffy is getting his custom made heart bars this morning. My husband set up his welder for the shoer yesterday.

We got Tuffy's x-rays on Friday, he has some rotation on his left front. You know, George has foundered numerous times but never had rotation, he's been x-rayed several times. It's very troubling.

Went on a trail ride yesterday with 18 other people.

Lots of fun!

Its not unusual for 4-8 people to ride together down our roads. But I think that 19 must be a record.

Wish I got pictures, but I didn't.

Glad that you had a good time.
Yesterday I made an improptu visit to Six Flags. A friend of mine had an extra ticket. Had a great time, but I'm feeling it this morning.

How bad is the rotation? I'm sending lots of good vibes your way!

Sorry to hear about Tuffy. Poor horse. So, painful for them. Hopefully, the shoes will help. The navicular QH we had, was shod with aluminum oval shoes and pads. A good farrier can make them, at least comfortable.

Too many roller coasters? The weather must have cleared out for you also. Do the amusement parks in your area, have a Halloween theme going on?

Too bad, we enjoy them so much on here. That was quite a group. Was it planned? You must have had some nice weather also.

Good morning everyone.... I haven't had much to report horse-wise... it's been crummy weather, horses have been going in at night, which means stall cleaning and more stall cleaning!

For excitement, we moved the horse's water buckets so that I could reach to fill them without going in. That's all our news. :~D

He's outside right now welding the shoes.

The rotation is 3 degrees. Farrier says that's about medium on the scale.

So sorry. Is the acute phase over now so he's no longer in pain? I'd sure like to see pics of the custom shoes.

Time will tell, I sure hope he can get sound again. He'll be in my prayers, I'm sure you're worried sick. I wonder if the difference between Tuffy and the pony is just weight. A pony moving around maybe doesn't have the sheer force a horse does to move those bones out of alignment. It's just a theory.

Here, I'll cover for you link, and post some pictures:)

In the last few weeks I've noticed that Harley's "smutty gene" has really become prominent. Jan asked me Sat. if he was appy.

LOL...I know I said I wouldn't be here much in the mornings, but the mornings are now so cool, that I won't be riding much till around 11. I got all my housework done Sat. sooooo....here I am.
