This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in . There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news . Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
Ah - riding :~D
Someday maybe I will :~D
I talked to Bob about the Tuesday night thing that Tiff had said was so fun. He thinks like me, and he's been there... it's pandamonium, horses running all directions, they try to do drill team type games for fun, and Bob said there's just too many in the arena. Plus, it's so late that you get home and the horses are sweaty and it's cold. I just don't think we're into that. If they did it on a Sat or Sunday afternoon, maybe!
And that makes me a saaaaaad panda! ;~D
My honey wouldn't make fun of my typos... I know he wouldn't ;~D
I meant to mention, Hair. Cyn is looking really good.
Thanks :~D Especially next to that picture of Bay looking like a swamp pig.
Cyn is as sleek and shiny as she is in summer. She doesn't grow a coat at all.
Ha! Swamp pig! Enjoy it, because it means he feels good enough for a good roll!
Yeah - they love to roll in the snow... Hardly enough of it there to be worth it... it was just a mud roll.
I know what you mean. My in-laws had 2 yellow tabby tomcats who were brothers and they never had names so I just called them both Tom-Tom. They didn't seem to mind.
Rained very hard all day yesterday. This morning, snow flurries again. It was dark when I got home last night or I would have taken some pictures, of all the water laying in the yard.
Morning! :-D
Two kitties are always more fun than one. Rowdy, the kitten that my nephew's dog killed, used to really love to play with one of my other cats named Buster. They'd spent most of their waking hours in the house stalking and ambushing each other. They'd roll and tumble and howl and hiss and growl and you'd think they were killing each other but they always came back for more.
That's the thing... One will be winning, and the underdog will screech and beg for mercy, and then jump right back in it.
Good morning all.
Send some rain this way, I can use all you can spare!
It's cedar-pollen time here in Texas, and I'm feeling siiiiiiick.
Insurance adjuster has come and gone. According to his figures we will be able to replace the entire thing if we want. He was very fair. Now to see how the underwriters see it.
I just had an American Goldfinch hit the patio door. I'm not sure if he will recover. I put him in my tree that is in the garden to be safe.
You can see in the pictures, the first one he wasn't even holding his head up.

I went out to take a picture of hiim in the tree and he flew away:)

So sorry about the little bird... I've seen them go both ways after they get their bell rung like that.
But great news on the barn! I hope it can get going right away!
That's good news!
I think Mack is going to take a shot at fixing the three stalls that are still standing. He "might" be able to get a good enough fix on them that it will work. But the guy figured it as a total loss.
It's worth a shot to try to fix.
Becky
Fixed is good, but shiny new is also nice. I'm glad it looks like you'll have options.
