The FreeRepublic Saddle Club - Who's Who *pics*

This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.

I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!

I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.

So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

Who me:)

UUUMMMMM....sounds good. I had some chips and pepperoni.

Mack got home from work around 6, and good news, he actually does not have to work tomorrow or Sun:). You know, tho, we can't think of anything special to go do. But it will be nice having him home.

We have the same trouble lately on weekends. It's too dreary to want to go anywhere here.... if we wanted to go outside, there's some fencing maintenance that needs done where the deer broke the wire, there's some winterizing we could do, but those things don't seem like much fun.

I'm tired tonight too. Eddie and I thought about going to Chillis but settled for peanut butter/jelly sandwiches.

Funny story.....Mr. Estrogen is at the cabin putting up tree stands with his buddies so I didn't make dinner or anything, just snacked. Well, I got a sweet tooth and remembered I had a lb. of Gorants chocolates in the car.(I took a lb. to my aunt at the nursing home last week and they had a buy one get one 50% off)

Man, I could taste that chocolate covered cherry. I opened the box and it is ruined. The chocolate looks rancid and white, I must have parked my car in the sun all week. Oh well, at least I won't gain 5 lbs. lol

What a let down:') I love choc covered cherries. I just put me a pot pie in the oven.

Talking about snacks, my horses both have sweet tooths. I limit it but I do treat at times. Neither cares for carrots. Okie likes the horse bars and apples. Sarah Lee likes everything, but esp peppermints.

Some vets have the capability to do Coggins testing in house, so the results would be back the same day. I realize it's a bit late for it this time, but you might call around and see.

Hee, my Beren will do about anything for a peppermint. Just crinkle the wrapper and he perks up. Of course, this is the same horse that likes burgers and Chik-Fil-A sandwiches, not that he's allowed to get them. He's reached out and taken a chunk of mine on more than one occasion.

My vet can do a stat one day test. For an extra 20 dollars:')

None of them around me do the lab work in-house. They send it out. I'll just have to wait until next time.

Thanks for the suggestion though.

Good Morning.

Cool and raining here today. The man I bought the 5th wheel from, is going to come help me winterize it today. Kids went to QH Congress and I have the granddaughter.

What a darling! And a beautiful horse too.

I'm still here, just lurking, dreaming of the day I'll have my ranch and horses. In the meantime, I appreciate your daily pings. It's nice to see the red "Pings" lit up every morning. It's kind-of like not coming home to an empty house.

Thanks again.

Lovely picture. Today is cold and rainy, so I'm heading over to the barn tomorrow. I haven't been able to ride since the beginning of october. Blech.
