As they were both eating, I think the withers show more, but yes Sugar does have a large one. She has a really good saddle that has been fitted on her and several pads. We won't ever ride her a lot though, she has been through so much and because of that, does not need any more worries. She is great for light riding around the fields locally and I am just so glad we were able to provide her a home and make sure she didn't end up at the meat market.
Smokey rides a lot of trails and is a very comfortable ride. We get a lot of people asking us if we would sell him. He is very popular.
Talking about selling horses, I hope to go over and spend time with Misty and Lightning soon! : ) Thunder has gone to a new home, and someone wants to buy Adge from them!

I noticed something when I posted pics of ours the other day, that Cyn is actually starting to get a chest.

I knew we had put weight on her, but I didn't realize she's also getting a little more width. I think riding her this summer, along with feed, did her some good. Compare to her chest when we first got her. She had no width.

Oh my gosh, she has filled out.
It's amazing what feed and excerise does for a horse:)

Well she was underweight when we got her. Just no muscle on her at all. They gave her hay, but I don't think she was on a quality grain.
I guess when I see her every day, I don't notice how much she's changed. She'll always be relatively lean, she's no quarter horse, but she's got a lot more substance than she had. She looks like a horse now. :~D

She sure does.
There is really a big difference in horses that are/look OK, and horses that look/are GREAT. Cyn was OK when you first got her, now she looks great:) Some people are just happy to settle for OK.

Cyn was OK when you first got herShe was such an impulse buy, we still marvel at how lucky we got. I mean.... after sitting around here for months ~talking~ about how we should start looking for a horse for ecurbh, I got a burr under me to go start looking at we looked a total of two hours, at two horses.
It's not her conformation that makes her great, though I like the way she has filled out, it's her rock solid temperament. She's just absolutely super for ecurbh, but a pleasure for anyone to ride on trail. That's just lucky. That could have gone worse, being impulsive as we were.
I better go get at stalls.
I'm gonna try to get some other pictures of her coat. She's really roaning with this coat change, though you can't tell in the pic above. I think it's unusual for a horse to start roaning at 7. She has a lot more white hair now than she did.

Wow Hair, Cyn looks great!
To: Beaker; ecurbh
~thanks~ :~D She's lookin' good, I'm immodest to say. Ecurbh tries to say she's prettier than Bay, but I don't know about that ;~D

Posting comparison pictures about the quantity of pee in a stall is really scraping the bottom of the conversation barrel. I need to go riding or do ~something~ remotely interesting soon. :~D

I must admit that when you first showed us pictures I was a little skeptical about her because she was very underweight,(certainly no fault of yours!) so it made her conformation, especially her topline look off. But she looks great now!
I know what you mean about not getting to go out and do anything. I haven't been able to ride since october 2nd because of all this rain! eek!
To: Rose of Sharn; HairOfTheDog
What's the story behind Sugar? Just curious. See Hair, there's more to talk about then pee! You just have to dig sometimes :-)
To: Rose of Sharn
*waves* Hey there!
Between here and jonny's threads, we see each other a lot more often these days. :-D
