I don't think these look that bad either - they are definitely kilts, not skirts. A proper looking kilt actually looks very masculine. I attend Renaissance fairs frequently and see lots of men wearing kilts. They look anything but sissy. Interestingly some women (especially lesbians) wear male kilts to these events as well. Women who wear kilts actually end up looking very odd and butch. Kilts are totally masculine in my eyes.
