Tom Brady is clearly beginning to earn a spot on that list.

But he's only won 3 superbowls in 4 seasons. :-)

Barry Sanders? Sanders squandered his talent.

Emmitt Smith was better than Barry Sanders.

Add Raymond Berry to your receiver list. Ran the most precise routes in the game.

Fred Bilitnekoff (sp.) as well.

Reggie White should be no lower than #2 among DL.

Barry would make spectacular runs, but many times he'd diddle around in the backfield and get tackled behind the line of scrimmage instead of just going forward and try to get positive yardage.

I like your choices ... only, I would cheat and put Favre in a tie for 2nd with Marino.

If I would start a team, my first pick would be Terry Bradshaw. Why? He just had the ability to win.

QUARTERBACKS: close call but - Joe Montana
RUNNING BACKS: Walter Payton and way ahead of others
WIDE RECEIVERS: Jerry Rice no question
DEFENSIVE LINEMAN: difficult call - Joe Greene
LINEBACKERS: Dick Butkus absolutely
DEFENSIVE BACKS: not sure

PUNTER: RAY GUY Amen! nothing like watching him BOOM a 70 yarder!

The best moment ever in the late great Superdome was when one of Guy's punts hit the gondola.

I like most of the selections but at various positions I would opt for:

QB: Montana and Unitas are clear, I don't see why other than stats to include Marino.

RB: Brown is a jerk but maybe the best NFL player ever. I can see Payton but clearly E. Smith belongs on this list over Sanders and many others belong before Sanders.

WR: Certainly Rice belongs. Maybe Maynard does but probably not. There might be 100+ guys that belong on this list ahead of Moss SO FAR IN HIS CAREER.

DL: Greene belongs, BUT HOWIE LONG, is this a DL/Broadcaster category? Randy White might belong. How about Deacon Jones, Jack Youngblood, Merlin Olson just from the Rams past and I am not a Rams fan. Heck Greene's 3 DL teammates are better than Long and maybe White.

LB: I could see all three listed but hard to leave off Ray Nitske [sp?].

DB: Dieone Sander has to be on this list and I don't like him more where he went to college. Dick Lane. I would included Lott and maybe one of the other two but they are all safeties.

BTW, we need some OL and a kicker/punter.

But he's only won 3 superbowls in 4 seasons.

I know that but he is only a kid. Give him time and he will mature a maybe someday make something of himself.
