This is the first chance since the storm I've had to check in and let everyone know we made it through Katrina in good shape. We live 15 miles north of the coast, so we didn't have to contend with the tidal surge that devastated the coastal areas, but we did get about 10 hours or so of 130 - 160 mph winds. Got some minor damage to the roof, which was put on after hurricane George in '98, and lost a bunch of siding, but overall, we did good. We finally have power back as of 10 Sept, and are back at work helping to get Keesler ready to resume it's training mission. Have been talking to the folks here that lost everything and offering to have them stay with us until they can get back on their feet. We feel it's the least we can do.
I'll check in as time permits.
Our thought and prayers are with all who were affected by this storm.
And our most heartfelt thanks to all who are being so generous and helping all of us in our time of need. Words will never be able to express how much it means.
Prayer and blessings to you, and if you need ANYTHING, just let us know. We are delighted to hear you're okay!
thanks for checking in. I've been wondering about you.
Glad you are back and didn't get smacked around by that ill lady KATRINA too badly.
It's good to see you survived the hurricane with your family and house intact.
I've read Keesler was hit pretty bad.
