I don't have a problem with pointing out the "sword swallowing" that occurred in Greece and in the Roman Legions, but I doubt Caesar was and and it seems that Hollywood/TV wants to make every Ancient Hero gay. If they were then fine, but if they are not then why make them out to be so.

There were stories at the time that Caesar was gay. Read Suetonius. Most likely they were made up by his political opponents in order to discredit him (like some nowadays claim that Hillary was a big lesbian) but still, it's not something just invented yesterday.
