I think Shep may have seen the light when Phone Bill noted that he sounded bitter. I'd like to see him apologize and acknowledge the stress that he's under. If he's a professional, he owes that to his audience.

I thought Phone Bill did a pretty good job tonight. He wasn't hysterical like he was last night. And he tried to calmly be part of the solution, rather than being part of the problem.

I would concur that O'Reilly seemed relatively cool and collected in comparison to Shepard Smith and Geraldo, but only by comparison, because both of them were near the edge at times.

However, I noticed a curious pattern throughout those segments, and also with Col. Hunt. Everytime one of them mentioned a specific mistake or failure to act on the part of the Governor of LA, O'Reilly's immediate response was to restate what they said but rephrase it saying "the federal government" failed to act quickly enough, etc., etc.

It seemed very clear to me that no matter how many times Col. Hunt or the others specified the Governor's failures or mistakes, O'Reilly was determined to, as the saying goes, "make a federal case out of it".
