Morning Corin, got to say we don't have any pampas grass and don't know much about it. We think OT's reasoning is spot on.
Man, do I love daylilies. They multiply like crazy. Drives LSA up a wall though, I keep dividing them and planting new beds, she wants to do some other plant stuff. Heck we can do both, there are still some patches of grass that aren't converted yet.
This has been the best year for Hostas we have seen. They are 'HUGH' and the blossoms are outstanding. Columbines seem to have survived and thrived, spreading nicely.
Looking forward to your 'riparian corridor establishment' and its subsequent 'enhancement' project. That really does sound fascinating.
Is it soggy out there! And I've got some neighbors running lawnmowers this morning. I might at least turn the compost pile today. I'm staring at TheSunRoom and deciding which doors will be for traffic...planning pathways and plantings.
Skeeters are swarming bigtime. Miss Cat's grass is coming up and I've got more little green 'maters coming. Let's see if I get any this time 'round. I'm not planning any more week-long sojourns for a while.
Until I decided to do the dry stream bed, I was plannin' to establish some daylilies out at the front of the drive way. But that'll have to wait.
I'm lookin' forward to the dry stream bed project too. I'll take pictures and post 'em of the progress.
I'm gonna try for more hostas too. I'm hoping to develop a shade/forest garden on the other side of the yard.
