Hm...maybe that one would work, then. Though...really, *I* was the one that benefited...the company almost didn't care! But it made ITs job easier, that's for sure.
Maybe if I just start brainstorming on paper, other ideas will come. AND I get an excuse to use pen and paper. Mmm...pens...paper...

If IT's job was made easier, then the company benefitted, whether they acknowledged that or not.
And, it's ok to fudge small details like that... in fact, use it to show how you took the initiative and did something for the betterment of the company without being asked.
