Her boss prolly came by in a boat to pick all of them up. And requested that they be sure to dress properly while at it - no casual clothing just because of the wind and damp. And that the cost of the conveyance would be taken out of their pay.
Heh...I s'pose they aren't quite THAT bad, but yeesh...some of the hoops they make her jump through!

My company switched to ADP just last year for paychecks and such. I really don't think there would be mass hysteria breaking out if there were some kind of announcement that checks were delayed a day or two because of hurricanes at the processing center. Certainly, there would be people that had a specific hardship... but those could be handled.
First rule of management: Take. Care. of. Your. People.
I cannot imagine ordering my people to put their families or themselves at risk for something as trivial as a payroll run or a mail server.
