One of my brothers is the same way. Heh...I can remember walking to town with him, and there was a bridge - just over the freeway - that he couldn't cross if he looked down. One time he forgot and caught a glimpse over the edge. We had to wait AGES for him as he crawled slowly across with his eyes averted. It was just sad.
And the little museum in town has opaque panels in the floor upstairs. He can't handle those, either.
And yet, he's pretty much OK with flying. I don't completely understand it.
