If gas prices stay where they are...it'd hurt, for sure. Especially if I didn't switch to a smaller vehicle. Still have my van.
But it's true that it'd be helpful to have local experience.
If I get a call back from the college saying "Thanks, but no thanks", it'd be a no-brainer to take this despite the downsides. I guess. But I'm worried that I'll get lucky enough to go back for a second interview at the college and be waiting to hear back on that when this job calls. And of course...these folks could say "Thanks, but no thanks," too...but you know what I mean! After all this time, I'd be afraid to say "Can you hang on until I hear back on this one other position?"
I guess I just gotta trust it'll all work out.
But I still want the college position. It felt better.
Three month assignments can be tough.... I've sure been there. It'll keep you busy enough, but only delay your job search till later.
If they offer it to you, then you certainly should make a careful call to the college and say you have another offer that you do not want to take if there will be one coming from the college.
Evening - I would think you'd want to know if the contract was for 'up to three months' or for 'three months'. Bear probably knows more questions from the contract end of things.
