Do you restore old phonographs, or whatever the proper term would be?
The guy that hosts the acoustic jam back home collects old records and old players...the ones with the big trumpet on 'em and such. Has a bunch of them in the barn where the jam is held...interesting thingamajiggers.
I own a Pathe cabinet phonograph which I inherited in my yout'. It works quite well with the RCA-style steel needles on the RCA-style records, but to play the Pathe records properly requires the sapphire ball stylus. Also, the reproducer head must be rotated to a different angle for the Pathe records, and the sapphire stylus must
not be used on an RCA-style record.
Edison-style records are another whoe bucket o' beans.
