Well, at least I can take vital signs, check blood sugars and administer insulin...and gather medical information and make assessments.
I hope I can hitch a ride with someone...I can help pay for the gas, even...but my car isn't dependable enough to make it.
I've wanted to be a part of the Southern Baptist Disaster Relief for a long time...even have them linked on my profile. But to go to actual disaster areas, you have to have extensive training. The next orientation is October 1st and I am hoping their will be others from my church who will be attending and I can catch a ride.
I hope you can go, too. You can warm a heart even on your worst day so you could do a *lot* of good helping with disaster relief. The thing that the faith-based organizations offer that the gubmint groups can't even come close to is the human touch - and you've got it.
