Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sand and Stone and Pool and Dell...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

hehehehe...
I just remembered. It wasn't a Chrysler. It was a Plymouth. An Acclaim, to be exact.
Lordy, lordy...was that car a mess to get used to.
And just when I did, my Toyota came out of the shop. :-D
Older Pontiacs are terrible with layouts too. Especially the Grand Ams of the late 80s, early 90s.

LOL!!
They both raise a stink if you bother them. And you wouldn't want either one around your home.

On the other hand, I LOVED the layout of my little Corolla. It was kind of a bare bones model, so it didn't have many niceties...but everything was just...right. Easy to reach, logical.
I loved that car. *snif* Except for the no get-up-and-go.

"I have yet to see a real, live skunk. Or even a dead one, for that matter." Not to worry, there is a fairly common tree, native to South Florida, the white stopper, that smells like a skunk.

If you are ever driving with your windows down through an area that sill has the old Dade County or Keys jungle and smell a slightly skunk like odor, it's the stoppers.

For those who haven't watched the first season yet, I'll use super-secret-white-font...
I know exactly what you mean. When I saw that Mary statue sticking out of his bag, I just wanted to cry. He's beaten it. Why would he even want it around? And he's got a baby now, in a way. *shakes head sadly*

But I've never smelled a skunk, so how would I know? *wink*

...</font color=white>He should never have picked it up. I just really hope nothing comes of it...but considering how defensive he was last time we saw him...I wonder. Grrr!

I have yet to see a real, live skunk.
Or even a dead one, for that matter.
Either way, I'm prolly lucky. ;-D Yes... as it would happen. We had a skunk gettin' into the dog pen when I was a kid... The dog was stunk up good and proper. Dad and I went out skunk huntin'. It was pretty cool, since it was the first time my Dad let me carry a loaded rifle as we were walkin' the loggin' roads.
I was about ten, and I was packin' my Marlin .22LR Golden Mountie. Proud as can be. :-)
Killed us a skunk, we did. Whether it was the right skunk was simply not important. The dog, a Lab named Chip (pick of the litter from Gunner, our old Lab, a former national field trial champion) got the bead on the skunk... he "got it"... he knew why we were out there... that dog was simply born to hunt. It was his whole life.
:-)

My first car was a 1982 Toyota Corolla station wagon. Silver. Loved it.
Second car. Toyota Corolla - 1983, 2 door model. Dark blue and decorated with Grateful Dead bears in the back window. (I know, I know)
Third car - 1997 Toyota Tacoma XL 4x2 extended cab ("Betsy"). Dark green. Broke my heart to trade it in for the Rav-4 ("Ginger"), but I really needed a back seat for the kids.
All three were reliable and sensibly put together. But ZERO pick-up. If I needed to pass someone, I had to turn off the A/C first to get the extra zip I needed.
No joke. :-D

Evenin' folks. We just got back... had to get a new battery put in the Chevy and got some dinner while we was waiting.
One car repair down, one to go. ~sigh~
At least tomorrow's payday, so there's that.

Chip wanted vengeance.
Chip got vengeance.
Skunk got smoked.
*snif* I love dog stories with happy endings.

I didn't do a lot of passing since I mostly drove rural roads, but I hadda turn off the A/C on hills if I didn't want to slow to a crawl. Pretty sad. Needed a few extra hamsters, I guess. I'd love a car that was essentially a slightly bigger, more turbocharged Corolla, but I don't think it exists; not exactly anyhow.

Hopefully I'm a bit brighter during the interview tomorrow.
As far as remembering the proper things to do and say, I mean...not wearing the Ring. ;-)
