Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sand and Stone and Pool and Dell...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

You have several days in which to watch it. You haven't known me long enough to know much about my schedule, have you?
I'll see if I can work it into my "free" time...

My friends Bob and Kay have the six year old who they adopted as an infant.... Kay is quite a bit younger than Bob... she works, Bob is retired, and Bob has always been home with Jesse. Bob cusses up a storm. Well, she's in Catholic school now, but when she was only about three, I was there when she smacked her head on the corner of a wall, and said "OW SH&T!". Kay didn't say anything to Jesse... she just turned to Bob and said... "Bob, you ARE going to live long enough to explain that girl's mouth to the nuns at school".

LOL! That is so funny, Hair!
And the kid saying Oh Crap to Matthew didn't upset me at all. If you recall, Steve said Crap too, during the preacher's sermon, that time...you know...
But just like mrsnad was there to redirect that little girl that said the F word, I was right there to redirect my sweetheart, to let him know (much to the amusement of the man sitting behind us) that although it may be just fine in a Lutheran church, crap is not a word one shouts out in a Baptist church. LOL!!!
What gave me pause was that there was no one to redirect this little boy because the crowd was so hugh. So many kids and they just seemed to be only mildly supervised. And the clincher was, Matthew didn't want to go back.
And that really made me feel bad, because I enjoyed GAs so much when I was a kid. I loved studying about missions and they made me feel like I was really a part of it!
So I checked out the RAs down the street and it was great. Much smaller group and Matthew admitted someone would be hard pressed to say crap without it being overheard by an adult.
He also wants to go back! He came home with a dime-card for hunger relief and got his ice-tray money and filled it up! (He makes the ice and I pay him 25 cents each time.) Joshua did the same thing, using his utensils money (he gets a dime each time he puts away the clean utensils in the dishwasher.)
Made me so proud that they were eager to fill up their cards and wanted to use their own little bit of change to do it.
Now for something completely different...
I got some tracks on my flour. It's definitely not a dog or cat, the foot has big nails like a dog but is too spread out...I can't tell what it is yet though...the light is dim and my eyes haven't focused yet, but it walked on the board and i think I got a good picture of one of the tracks. The girls were safe, though...the door was securely shut.

Heh heh! I put that in for your benefit. I did actually say that to him (he grew up Lutheran) after I got over the mortification and saw how funny it was.
It rained on the floured board and I was worried it wouldn't work, but it made like a flour mud and it worked better than if it had been dry, I believe...

glad you had the girls locked up safe...
We started out with nine...and then there were three. I think when we build the pole barn, I'd like to build a small fully-enclosed coop. For now, we built a small enclosure for the young birds to hang out in during the day. Our shock collar should be here today or tomorrow...we borrowed one for a few days but because of Ginger's behavior, we thought it best to pick one up. Gonna try and train it out of her.

Mornin'
Didn't go to thegym this mornin'. After all, trainer says I need more rest.
Have also given myself permission to ~start~ but not have to ~finish~ the dry stream bed this weekend. I'm gonna move the plants and map out the stream bed. If I get more done, great. If not, I can live with that.
It was rainin' at the house this a.m. But it's not downtown.
