Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sand and Stone and Pool and Dell...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

This has happened before with your browser, when you tried to type in your youngest's name, IIRC.
I didn't know what caused it then either, except to speculate that it was something trying to redirect your browser.

it's an odd character flaw, I think.I'm tempted to say everything just lightly wrong for the rest of the evening just to give you a hard time...
Now ~that's~ an odd character flaw if I ever saw one. ;~D

Heh...a little more current than that.
(I swear, I just typed it here and it wouldn't let me post it)
Can one of you try it so I know I'm not going crazy?

Heh, I just put a name to my character flaw: anal retentive.
Yeah, saying everything just slightly wrong would keep my fingers busy typing responses, all right.

Oh yeah, I remember that now. You know there's five people using this computer and I can't control where they all go. I still can't get rid of popups. I've got a firewall on, I run anti-virus stuff, I tell IE to turn on the pop-up blocker, and none of it works.
It's stuck on my (real) first name. Not the actor's name.

My system is going to be pretty much unusable for the next hour... I'm recording a TV show, and with this old video card I've got installed temporarily I can't do much else while it records.

That's a really strange firewall.... What's it trying to accomplish?

Coon was my first thought...but I've never seen one around! Then when my neighbor said he smelled a skunk, I wondered if maybe it was a skunk! Then just this evening, my good friend across the street said she had an opossum living under her porch!
Who knew there was so much wildlife in my neighborhood! So it coulda been a coon.

This evening, while we were driving home from Aldi's, these Goth looking teenage or young adult men (pierced in many places on their faces) pulled up beside us in their car at the light. I kid you not, they had a full-sized *fake* but realistic decapitated head with a meat hook going through it hanging from their rear-view mirror! Very bloody looking, mouth agape...
Naturally I busted out laughing and the jedis saw and Matthew said in a very "Marvin" sounding voice "Now I've got a headache!"
Ha ha!! My kids love HHG!

Yup, 'coons and 'possum are the most common urban wildlife, after squirrels. We've had both turn up at our house, living and dead. And we don't even live in a very suburban area...

Well, here is my plan...
I'm going to take a board and lay it down in front of the coop and sift flour onto it and see if I can get some track prints. If it's for sure a coon or skunk, I think I'll take g'nad's advice and have it trapped and removed.

Heh.... you might be able to get away with reading them the books. They aren't naughty, that I can remember, there's just a lot of those kind of one liners.
