Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sand and Stone and Pool and Dell...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I've always wanted to try an Arab costume entry at the Arab show that's held at the same time as the dressage show at the Mason, MI fairgrounds. I wanted to dress up as a Jordanian Desert Patrol, but Marl said the TDs would probably frown on the real AK47. LOL - I dunno.... If it were really about native costume, then the Arabs would have stuff hidden under their robes too...

Good morning!
I'm having a rigor. An absolute fit. It has to do with the egroup and I'm in an absolute tailspin.

Town?
*shudder*
I start training for that volunteer job today. If it's as simple as it seems likely to be, training will be a few minutes of showing me what information goes where, and I'll do some work, too. Hopefully can put in half a day or so.

LOL - I dunno.... If it were really about native costume, then the Arabs would have stuff hidden under their robes too...The modern Jordanian Desert Patrol (we're not talking arabian-nights-era) wears a modern grayish police-type uniform, with the rifle slung over the shoulder.
I almost thought we had a costume class in dressage when a woman showed up in a Michigan State campus police "mounted division" uniform. While police and military can ride dressage in their riding uniforms, I pointed out to the TD that Michigan State campus police does NOT have a mounted division, so her "uniform" was a fantasy piece. In fact, it was all black, and looked surprisingly like a nazi SS uniform.
The TD took the line of least resistance, and allowed her to ride in that uniform. It was an embarrassment, IMHO.

Ha! (I thought you'd never ask!)
Well, one of the girls that belongs to both support groups "offered" to keep up with what the other support group was doing and when they were scheduling activites so we could schedule our activities around it!!! So she can do both support groups easily!
I replied pretending l like the other support group would be doing the same same thing for us (scheduling around our activities...not gonna happen, I can guarandamntee it.)
Several BA CHEF members belong to other homeschool support groups. I have belonged to two support groups for many years. Sure, there has been conflicting events and activities...as a matter of fact, there was just this last Saturday! That's just what happens when you belong to two support groups...but I've never regretted being part of the two groups. I just worked around it. I never thought BA CHEF needed do anything different to accommodate me, though. I don't believe my other support group ever made any scheduling decisions bases on what BA CHEF was doing, either. I would think [the other support group] would be the same way.
As far as doing the [Peach Orchard] field trip with [the other support group], I won't be going and here's why...one of the main reasons I decided to stay with BA CHEF was because it was smaller. I was looking forward to smaller field trips. This sounds like it would turn out to be just another big field trip with a big support group. The last field trip I went on with BA CHEF before [the other support group] formed was a mass of kids and it was a madhouse! I was so excited about the smaller, more intimate BA CHEF because that!
Anyway, that's my two cents, for what it's worth.

What a small group of women are trying to do is make BA CHEF like a "extra branch" of CHEER...weaving us into their schedules...I want no part of it, but they keep trying. it was the same situation when they tried to get us to change the day we meet.
Just annoying.

They are trying to get BA CHEF to accommodate them, they wouldn't dream of getting the new group to change to accommodate BA CHEF.
It's vey irritating. I don't want anything to do with the new group, and I certainly don't want to do joint field trips with them. It's going to cause another rift, because this small group of people is adamant about getting us to accommodate them. And remember, if you say anything against it, you're being mean-spirited.
