Heh...and if it's a movie reference, remember that I have large gaps in my cultural knowledge. ;-) I know stuff from the sixties back...and the nineties forward. Very little in between except Star Wars.
Nah, yer safe.
I don't think it is *ever* requested... but it's pretty much the only song that just about *everybody* can play on a guitar. :-)
That and "Stairway to Heaven". In my experience. And sometimes "House of the Rising Sun".
Heh...there was a guitar store I was in once that actually had a tongue in cheek sign asking that folks refrain from playing "Stairway to Heaven"...
Lucky you... since not much else important happened in the 70's or 80's, except for maybe the Sex Pistols, AC/DC and Ronald Reagan.
Huh... there's a sentence I never would have thought to ever type before. There's tagline material in there somewhere. :-)
Heh...and speaking of older stuff, we all learned the basic riff from "Sunshine of Your Love" and would occasionally break into that on stage, usually after some very sedate waltz.
Always got a laugh...especially considering the instruments were NOT the original line-up - banjo, fiddle, tin whistle...
Ever tried to do some Eddie Van Halen, "Eruption" on a mandolin? There's a buck to be made... right there... :-)
Van Halen I don't really know. But there are a lot of electric guitar solos that would be awfully fun on mandolin.
They also make electric mandolins. The possibilities are a bit frightening.
'night, folks...
Yeow... Cream. Sunshine of your love.
But when you got Eric Clapton on guitar... dang... it just isn't fair to other bands. :-)
Warren Zevon... "Lawyers, Guns, and Money".
It would work. :-)
Cool.
:-)
dude... :-)
Could only find the intro in a quick search, but she'll get the idea ;~D
One my favorite songs. I dunno why... but it just strikes a chord [sic]. Great lyrics...
Lawyers, Guns, and Money
Warren Zevon
Well, I went home with the waitress
The way I always do
How was I to know
She was with the Russians, too
I was gambling in Havana
I took a little risk
Send lawyers, guns and money
Dad, get me out of this
I'm the innocent bystander
Somehow I got stuck
Between the rock and the hard place
And I'm down on my luck
And I'm down on my luck
And I'm down on my luck
Now I'm hiding in Honduras
I'm a desperate man
Send lawyers, guns and money
The s#!t has hit the fan
Send lawyers, guns and money...
Cool, I'll have to check those out. Not sure I wanna know Kate's thoughts. She scares me...
Tagline repair...
Hurley's scary, sure, but I think Kate is evil. She ruins nice peoples' lives just by showing up.
Now Sawyer, I sorta get. I don't like him much but I get where he's coming from and he mostly seems to rip off people who deserve it. If I were around Sawyer, I'd watch my stuff. If I were around Kate I'd watch my back.
