Both our kids were a week overdue. Which meant they came out plump and healthy versus wrinkled and prune-like. So overdue was not a problem. (Your doctor will induce after one week I'm assuming)

Walking is the typical advise given to induce. It didn't work in the four deliveries I've been involved in.

Best advise I can give - Epidurals are wonderful!

I should have included more info in my original post. I am scheduled to be induced on Monday the 22 (10 past due date), but I would really prefer to avoid that. I was induced with my first and it was awful. I cannot get an epidural so I am looking to avoid getting pitocin since it causes very sharp, painful contractions (yes, I realize that contractions are generally painful, but for me forced ones hurt more).

My doctor only recomended sex and walking... neither of which is very appealing this late in the game and in this heat!I just like hearing stories from other people and seeing what worked for them. I will obivously follow the advice of my doctor and not do anything stupid.
