Word For The Day, Thursday, July 21, 2005 - propinquity
In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".
propinquity \pruh-PING-kwih-tee\, noun
1. Nearness in place; proximity.
2. Nearness in time.
3. Nearness of relation; kinship.
Following the race he took umbrage at Stewart's rough driving so early in the day, and the propinquity of the two drivers' haulers allowed the Kid to express his displeasure up close and personal.
--Mark Bechtel, "Getting Hot," [1]Sports Illustrated, December 2000
Technologically it is the top service among the women's fighting forces, and it also has the appeal of propinquity to gallant young airmen.
--"After Boadicea -- Women at War," [2]Time Europe, October 9, 1939
I was stunned by the propinquity of the events: I had never been in the same room with anyone who was later murdered.
--Karla Jay, [3]Tales of the Lavender Menace

WFB's attempt to emulate us ; ) No pushing at the door please!
don't you beleive her. the wet bar is always open here in the classroom!
As Roberts approaches propinquity
We should point to the dems' iniquity
Ginsburg didn't reply
Re: should fetuses die
Stayed as mum as the Sphinx of antiquity
camle, David Hackett Souter was not a member of the Federalist Society married to someone who wsa president of "Feminists for Life". there really IS no parallel between them to get your panties in a wad over.
did you see the clip of Roberts answering the Putzhead's questions at his last hearing? i think he will have his wits about him and he should quote Ruthy EVERY SINGLE TIME they ask him about it.
..xcuse please! I have a propinguity for pun-didn't statements on Thursday morning if the sun comes up and is "pinquity".
that remains to be seen. I do defer to wiser counsel int his matter being unfamiliar with the candidate.
of course it remains to be seen, like i said no one can guarantee anything. but Souter was much more of a pig in a poke than Roberts is, being a closet fruit who was pushed through by the RINO rudman.
a few martinis ought to help with yer inspiration!
i reckon we'll just have to have faith in mini-me.
If ever something were blocking a colon, 4 minutes of this waste of broadcast time would inspire that blockage to be freed. The basic idea of sending rotten drug-addled kids to boot camp is appealing. But this "camp" is run by a bunch of flower-child wannabes who go by rugged names like "Aspen", "Little Big Bear", "Preening Eagle" and other such nonsense. They drive the kids (whose parents can't spell 'discipline' let alone use it) into the middle of desert somewhere, and force them to live outdoors for a couple months. They give them "impact letters" from parents. Everyone calls everyone "Dude". The Counselors spend their time in a self-esteem frenzy, acknowleging pain, and empowering the survivor within, and reminding the kids that their previous actions were not acceptable. It's EST meets Gaia, Mother Spirit of the Earth. This propinquity is as close to the Flower Child life as you'll ever see. It's like a slow car wreck, and you just can't turn away except to find a vomit bag.
morning
Experienced New York seamtresses who try to coverup Hillary's fat thighes with her famous black pant-suites (and pink top - but only when speaking behind the closet door to her homosexual community!) need quite a bit of propinquinsincity experience.
And, if that doesn't work, he can always quote Truthy. Do you think Chuckie likes limericks and anagrams?
Was Souter the SC justice who was hospitalized after being assaulted (then covered up!) in a Washington DC park after midnight a few months ago?
(Not that there's anything wrong with trolling alone in a Washington DC park after midnight of course.)
i don't know, we should try to recruit him for WFTD class and see : )
I was in San Diego recently, and the propinquity of the houses was a big surprise.
it was quite a bit longer ago than a few months, but that was indeed the individual whose loafers are light. : )
A full hour of Veg-o-Matic/Ginsu Knives infomercials would better serve the public.
If the WFTD is "putzhead," I'll ping him.
