1. Nearness in place; proximity.
2. Nearness in time.
3. Nearness of relation; kinship.

Following the race he took umbrage at Stewart's rough driving so early in the day, and the propinquity of the two drivers' haulers allowed the Kid to express his displeasure up close and personal.
--Mark Bechtel, "Getting Hot," [1]Sports Illustrated, December 2000

Technologically it is the top service among the women's fighting forces, and it also has the appeal of propinquity to gallant young airmen.
--"After Boadicea -- Women at War," [2]Time Europe, October 9, 1939

I was stunned by the propinquity of the events: I had never been in the same room with anyone who was later murdered.

But I do feel Ann Coulter's trepidation - we've been hornswaggled before - especially with Souter. my pinquity with her position is scaring even me.

Souter had so many red flags it wasn't funny. This guy (so far) has none. Even Anthony Kennedy had one: a footnote on gay rights in decision he wrote for the 9th Circuit.

I'm Bidenizing this from Black Elk because it was that good.

The failure to stop Souter, perhaps the single greatest error in appointment by a GOP president since Roe, was concocted by Sununu the Elder, Senator Warren Rudman and, most importantly, two people who accompanied Souter to all of his pre-confirmation hearings for SCOTUS. They are or were a married couple: Susan and Malcolm MacLane of Concord, New Hampshire. Susan was a long-time RINO State Senator and Malcolm was the longtime RINO mayor of Concord. To most Americans, this would mean little or nothing. To those familiar with the two of them, let us be charitable and say that the MacLanes would make John Kerry look like a Bircher. They were also Souter's sponsors for his Rhodes Scholarship. That he is a, ummmmmm, VERY confirmed bachelor recommended him to the Fabian MacLanes, as well.

Additionally, Souter had been chosen to be New Hampshire's Attorney General by Governor Meldrim Thompson (probably the most conservative public office holder in the United States in the last fifty years). As New Hampshire AG, Souter defended Thompson's actions such as ordering that US flags in New Hampshire be flown at half staff every Good Friday, proving yet again that it is better to judge lawyers by their friends than by their clients or by their cases.

Apparently, Souter is and has long been a very evil man and it is no stretch to suggest that he built a record to deceive. He did act as a trustee of two non-religious hospitals to approve the policy of accommodating abortion as hospital policy. That was mentioned at the time but got little attention. He obfuscated by saying something to the effect that he had not given it much thought and voted as a hospital trustee and not on the moral question or some such BS.

It makes me want to find Warren Rudhman and administer some old school justice on him.

No, I don't. BlackElk crafted that wonderful piece of information. It's actually even longer but I just cut and pasted my favorite parts.

"I know it's a gorgeous day but come to class anyway!"

Propinquitywise, it's not a gorgeous day for those of us here in AZ. We're waiting for the storms from H. Emily to cool us down.

I've been hanging out doing crossword puzzles and learning my new sewing machine.

You and I were for Dutchgirl wearing high heels and low cut emerald green clothing. Xs was against it in favor of comfy clothing. Wonder what she wore to the concert last night.

I could never vote against emerald green. It is one of my favorite colors. Here is something helpful :

You're going deep sea fishing? I'm an honorary deckhand in Newport Beach. You have to get thrown overboard and survive. I did. Also caught the largest fish of the day, a 26-pound albacore. I was a newbie on this adventure, also.

Have a ball! It's so much fun. Don't let them talk you into eating your first caught fish's beating heart. I could not do that.

I could use some of that right about now..............If i didn't have this dang thing on my leg the fact the one window A/C is having a time keeping this place reasonably temperate wouldn't bother me.

Funny girl! It was the one trip I ever forgot my own lid on - down to a refinery in Louisiana, and Chick's brother, Hal, worked there. But he was on vacation. So the guy at the plant said I could wear Hal's. I even wore his ear plugs, hoping there could be some exchange of Yeager DNA (is there any in earwax?).

Newport Beach is called "Silicone Valley" for a reason. 5'10" girls who weigh maybe 110 pounds with double Ds. Give me a break. It looks ridiculous.

Now tummy tucks, I could handle that one. LOL!

My color, too, after purple. But you can't paint your house purple! LOL!

Have you heard from Dutch today? She's probably nursing her aching feet.

Gabz, I feel for you. Even with the a/c going day and night, it's miserable. It's the end of this heat wave, and that's when I get really cranky. Cyber's taking me out of town a couple of days next week so I get my sweetness back. LOL!

The heat isn't what's making me cranky - it's being cooped up in the house and not being able to do much of anything that is driving me absolutely up the wall.

Coolbreeze took us over to Chincoteague yesterday, and it was fun and great to see a bunch of folks - but I was absolutely exhausted by the time we got home, and hurting really badly.
