Well, I think his refusal to seal the borders, especially in light of London and Madrid is criminally negligent pandering for hispanic votes. I think his sell out to the Chinese is pretty obvious. Why hasn't he tried to grow the army? We have a glaringly too small army... the stress he has put on combat troops who are deployed every other week is pretty outrageous. His no-show act is grating. His refusal to speak to the American people and embrace us and remind us why we did all we could do for him. Why hasn't he tried to save rural America from the scourge of meth, why hasn't he, like Reagan did, support legislation, like Jessica's Law, to create a tough national standard against those who commit crimes against children? Why hasn't he co-opted the good work that Mike Huckabee is doing against childhood obesity? Why is he freaking absent and so damn insulated? He stopped talking to us, he got re-elected and now he just does whatever the Hell he wants to do-- face it, he's pretty much told us to go to Hell.
"Why isn't Bush just like me? Why doesn't he agree with every one of my priorities and ideas? Why doesn't he follow every single part of my armchair quarterbacking?"
Has he hit you with
a lightning bolt? If you don't
shut up, someone might!
You need a sedative.
For the same reason that poor people in the inner city will never break the chains of crack cocaine, poor people in rural areas are never going to break the chains of methamphetamine.
My advice, work hard, save your money, so one day, you can move into a neighbor of higher income where there won't be addicts.
My main complaints against Bush are:
*He signed CFR
*Said he'd sign AWB
*Had no comment when SCOTUS last month used "interstate commerce" to justify federal legislation against growing personal medical marijuana.
*Had no comment on the eminent domain decision by SCOTUS.
In short Bush is not a particular believer in the American and English tradition of limited government, but a rationalist of the French tradition.
All that notwithstanding, Bush is IMO a straight shooter. He is the one guy, IMO, other than Tony Blair, who understands the great battle of our time, the deadly urgency of eradicating Islamic terror. But sometimes I think he even takes his eye off the ball on that.
I can't wait to see who his nominees are.
