Absolutely - you got that right!
I don't have a good feeling at all about Pres. Bush on this..... ever since O'Conner's retirement announcement, Bush has been backpedaling on his campaign pledge, and the only group that he has chosen to publicly berate and chastise, is the conservative majority base that elected and re-elected him. I hope I'm wrong.... but conservatives have been on the short end of stick in every legislative or judicial battle ever since the Nov 2, 2004 election. Bush is not a principled conservative, he's at best a closet moderate who's more interested in appeasing the Rino's & the RATS!
If Bush betrays us tonight with his SCOTUS nominee by announcing pro-abortionist Edith Clement (ie where in the constitution is there a statement about the guarantee to privacy insuring the right to abortion ??? If that isn't judicial activism, then I don't know what would ), then conservatives ought to withhold their support en masse from the Republican Party.... I know I will!
"If Bush betrays us tonight with his SCOTUS nominee by announcing pro-abortionist Edith Clement (ie where in the constitution is there a statement about the guarantee to privacy insuring the right to abortion ???"
Show us the proof. If not you will be zotted.
And where in Edith's statements has she said that in the constitution there's a statement about the guarantee to privacy insuring the right to abortion? She didn't say it and you're willfully misinterpreting what she did say.
She said she believes that the right to privacy is in the constitution.
She said the Supreme Court believes that this insures the right to an abortion. Do you see the difference?
