Oh ye of little faith. She'll be fine unless she falls for the MSM traps. Just like any other nomination. Don't worry, be happy.

Actually, Edith Clement hasn't written many opinions in high-profile questions. Consequently, there's no way to tell from her judicial opinions whether she'd be more conservative or liberal.
The fact that she deems abortion "settled law" is of no moment, given that she is currently a judge on the 5th Circuit. For an intermediate appellate court, it is settled law. This doesn't mean that she would not change the court's interpretation upon taking Justice O'Connor's seat.
Finally, her membership in the Federalist Society is comforting.

I have to agree with you, faith. Bush is getting more cynical by the day.
I personally will bolt if we do not get a strict constructionist, especially regarding the sanctity of marriage and the right to life of unborn babies and protection for people like Terri Schiavo.

If as it appears Bush will nominate a moderate named Edith Clement to the CourtHow do you know? I'll wait till this evening. I'm still holding out hope for Ann Coulter, then Mark Levin to succeed Rehnquist.

Anybody?

I haven't been on the site for a couple of days, so let me be another, in a long line of FReepers, who will, yet again, point out the pointlessness of your postings.
