I was pretty clueless through most of the 60's. My dad was stationed in Germany for a few years, and it was sort of a 50's time warp. All the TV was in German, and the only newspaper was the Stars and Stripes. The only phone call we got from the States was when my grandfather died. We communicated with family and friends via letters and cassette tapes. When we came back stateside it was a VERY rude awakening for my older brother and me. That was 1968, the year of the Democratic convention/riots in Chicago.
I never regretted it...thanks!
